Define which effective (!) mix of leadership styles you want and will use

Find your balance between being authentic and flexible in terms of leadership

For whom?

This session is for you if, as a manager, you want to become more effective with the use of different leadership styles. It may well be that your employees want a different mix of leadership styles than the one you prefer to use. What leadership styles are there? How do they affect the organisation’s climate and results? Which styles suit you best? Which styles do your employees desire? How do you find a balance between what suits you and what your employees want?

Learning objectives

An understanding of the diversity of leadership styles and the impact on results and organisational climate

An understanding of which styles do and don't suit you and your employees

Defining which leadership style mix you will apply ``how and when`` in the workplace to achieve organisational goals

Approach

Preparation

You will receive a scientific article on leadership styles and the influence of leadership styles on the results and the organisational climate of organisations.

The session

You will receive a brief explanation of the theory. What does scientific research say about the influence of leadership styles on the results and the organisational climate of organisations? Then we will look at the pros and cons for each style.

Then you walk (literally) past the different styles. What does this evoke? What attracts you? What doesn’t? How does this affect you and your employees? In groups, you and the other participants share anecdotes to learn from each other.

Finally, you reflect on a challenging situation: what styles do you apply in it? Which styles would be most effective? What can you do yourself to increase your effectiveness?

Securing

You will bring your 3 most important understandings and actions to apply in your daily practice.
