Delegating

Learn to delegate as a leader

For whom?

This session is for you if you want to learn to delegate better. When your employees are motivated and capable, it can be useful to (learn to) delegate. As a manager, you may tend to keep the work with you. This session is for you if you want to learn about pitfalls, tips, timing and how to delegate. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the extent to which delegating is in your nature and can be developed. You will also gain an understanding of the level at which beliefs and fears are the basis for your tendency to delegate or not.

Learning objectives

An understanding of effective delegation

An understanding of what you can do to (learn to) delegate

Creating an action plan to (learn to) delegate effectively

Approach

The session

You get to hear the theory in brief. What does scientific research say about when to delegate and when not to delegate? What are the pros and cons? What beliefs and fears play a role?

Then you walk (literally) past the various pitfalls. Which ones do you recognise in yourself? You then look at the tips: what can you do? You reflect on your team members: with whom could I apply these or not? How can your team members grow to the point where you can delegate? You map out your beliefs and fears about delegating: what do you want and are you able to do with this?

Securing

You take your key 3 understandings as well as actions to apply in daily practice.
