Cross-cultural cooperation

Create an understanding and action to grow further with your cross-cultural team

For whom?

This session is for you if you want to improve the cooperation in your team between team members from different cultural backgrounds. You will do this by using Erin Meyer’s 8 culture dimensions from her book “The culture map”.

Learning objectives

Understanding the different cultural characteristics of the different team members

Reflection on cultural stereotyping: what team members do and do not recognise

Cooperation: making concrete agreements on how to deal with the different cultures in the team

Approach

Preparation

No later than two weeks before the session, your team will receive the requested preparation. In doing so, each team member goes through the different culture dimensions from Erin Meyer’s book “The culture map”.

The session

During the session, you will learn about the different culture dimensions and reflect on everyone’s position in relation to each other. Knowing this: how can we use this to improve the mutual cooperation? We also discuss concrete situations when there was understanding and misunderstanding in mutual cooperation. What can we learn from this?

Securing

At the end of this session, you as a team will have a concrete overview of all perceptions, concrete agreements, decisions and actions concerning the cooperation. You will take these to the team meeting for securing or to one of the other consultation structures.
